![]() ![]() Day Three - was a repeat of Days one and two but this time when we returned to the hotel we were totally locked out and could not get in at all.Even after trying to reset it with the key machine they had to call the maintenance guy and he could not get in as well.We were locked out for about 30 minutes before we were able to get into our room. By the time we returned it was late and I just wanted to lay down and get in the bed so I didn't press the issue. But as I was at the front desk getting my second set of keys another guest was there complaining about their room having bugs. Day two-three (the door again) - On Day two we had the same issue with the door again and the only thing the staff did was issue new keys and they had to reset the door with the little key machine I did ask for a new room and they stated that they were booked and could possibly do it after people check out and have the room cleaned. Trust me I know I had to buy one for my home office when the pandemic started. As long as the lobby smells and looks good then they are fine. This right here tells me that the management could care less about the upkeep of their rooms. The chair to the desk was horrible it was so beat up that I did not want to sit in it and the couch was stained. Day One (The room) - The room smelled like mold and the air conditioner had a rattling noise to it if I could upload the video I took I would. What was ironic was the couple that checked in the same time we did was right next door to us and their key did not work either so they had to go back down and get their key fixed as well. My husband had to go down three times before they came up and had to reset the door with their little machine. Day one (The Door) - The first sign of what to come was the hotel key wouldn't work so after lugging luggage to our room my husband had to go back down and have them fix the key for door. I normally don't leave feedback but I could not let this go. I actually feel sorry for what they have to put up with. The only good thing was the front desk employees. This was the first time that it was so bad that we had to check out early. This was the worse experience I have ever had at a hotel. Lauderdale at the Comfort Inn in Dania Beach so we could be close to the airport when we left. But then we decided to end our celebration back toward Ft. We started out at Embassy Suites in Deerfield for a couple of days, then drove up to the Keys to spend a day and stayed at the Fairfield in Marathon and both were excellent just amazing. There is a stop by Port Everglades north gate.Where do I start? My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary in the FL area. ![]() The water taxi (more of a hop on-hop off boat service) is a unique way to get around. Fare is only 50 cents and $2 for a day pass (Jan 2014). You can change trolleys at Los Olas Blvd, to head towards downtown. It picks up at the bus stops and one route goes from the Publix supermarket to the beaches. The other option is the Sun Trolley which runs Fridays, Mondays and weekends daytime only. To return to the ship from Galleria Mall, the bus stop is outside the main entrance by the Blue Martini restaurant. Fare is $1.75 adults/$0.85 seniors and youth and a day pass is $4/$3 (Jan 2014). ![]() The closest stop to the cruise terminal is by the Walgreens at SE17th and Eisenhower Blvd. This route runs every 20-30 minutes with reduced frequency on Sundays. Take bus 40 westbound to go to Downtown Fort Lauderdale and eastbound to go to Galleria mall or the main beaches. SE 17th St is served by public buses and a private trolley. When dining in restaurants or taking taxis, it is customary to leave 15-20% tip since workers make minimum wage. Near Port Everglades, there are banks and ATM's along SE17th Ave including a Bank of America. ![]()
